I got my cams reslung by Runout Customs this winter. Sent out, reslung, and back at my doorstep within 3 weeks. I know this won’t always be the case but I was shocked how fast the turn around was. They look great and brought some life back into some old BDs

If you paint rope to measure certain lengths along the rope would it weaken the rope? Say painting a 1foot wide marker on the rope all the way around the rope not just on one side with spray paint.

Power line rescue please

I use the Feather, but for a leash it's attached to an AliExpres nametag holder with a 3 foot leash, and because it's so light it just zips right back to you if you drop it. After breaking said leash in a chimney, it now sits on the front of the front right loop of the harness, and I double up by clipping the actual wiregate from the tool onto the loop as well - hasn't failed me yet!

Actually you need a sample size of 3. Two tells you less info than 1. If you test in duplicate and get different results you know nothing, but in triplicate you can average. If you test once you just accept that result. You really need to test in triplicate to be scientifically sound.

Hard is Easy actually just had a brief history of attempts to measure abrasion resistance. The really short version is there is still no standard that gives useful results that are repeatable across batches of the same samples.

Your physical books will likely outlive any of your digital content, digital content is very fragile and if the servers go down for whatever reason, everything, or most of everything could be gone.

Abrasion resistance is a very poorly understood field in the textiles world, there are papers and books on it but most of what I have heard the majority of ISO, BS, EN, etc tests, don't translate to a whole lot and the method of abrasion is very very different in each. So to say something is "abrasion resistant" is a nebulus term.

That is not how you test it. You have to simulate the 20 N force as a fall. The force has to hit and bounce back within about a second or 2. Like tie a 200 pound weight to rope and have it fall the necessary amount of feet to generate the 20 n. The results will be completely different. Might even be ablet to take 40 N for that small 1 second burst of power.

Damn, aren’t the little CAMP SS 5mm quick links rated to approximately 25kN? I’d be looking to buy 6mm quick links made by someone else after seeing those break tests (especially with the amount of variation).
